Sports Desk, New Delhi. The first super over of the T20 World Cup 2026 has been seen. This match had not one but two super overs. After the match, the first super over also remained a tie. In the 13th match of the tournament, a close battle was seen between South Africa and Afghanistan. In this match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, South Africa, batting first, scored 187 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Afghanistan team was reduced to 187 runs in 19.4 overs. South Africa won in the second super over.

Captain Aiden Markram's bat did not work for South Africa, who came to bat first after losing Rickelton's stormy Paritos. He was out after scoring 5 runs in the third over. After this, there was a partnership of 114 runs in 61 balls for the second wicket between Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickelton. Both the batsmen completed their half-centuries. Miller's unbeaten captain Rashid Khan first trapped Quinton and then Ryan. Quinton scored 59 runs in 41 balls while Ryan scored 61 runs in 28 balls. The match reached the second super over, Miller took 1 run on the first ball. Brevis hit a six on the second ball. Brevis was caught out on the third ball. Tristan Stubbs hit a four on the fourth ball. No runs were scored on the 5th ball but Tristan Stubbs hit a six on the 6th ball and sent the match into the second super over.

Miller hit 2 sixes. South Africa, who came to bat first in the second super over, scored 23 runs. Tristan Stubbs started with a six. Miller hit 2 sixes on the 4th and 5th ball.

Afghanistan, which set out to chase 24 runs, suffered a setback on the very second ball. Mohammad Nabi's innings ended in the hands of Miller on the second ball of Keshav Maharaj. Nabi could not score any runs on 2 balls. After this, Gurbaz revived Afghanistan's hopes by hitting two consecutive sixes and brought happiness on the faces of the fans. Gurbaz did not stop here and hit a hat-trick of sixes. Afghanistan needed 6 runs on the last ball. However, Maharaj sent the next ball wide. Gurbaz caught Miller on the sixth ball and South Africa won.
