Jagran correspondent, Sambhal. The Sambhal Police, which exposed a gang involved in fraud in the name of insurance claims in 12 states, has been rewarded for the trust.
Insurance companies have built maternity rooms costing Rs 2 to 2.5 lakh in 15 police stations of the district through CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and have given the same number of scooters to women policemen.
ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash from Bahjoi Reserve Police Line inaugurated the online rooms. Whereas, DIG Muniraj ji inaugurated the room in Dhanari police station. A short film based on protection from insurance gangs and cyber frauds was also shown in the programme.
ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said that the professional investigation of Sambhal Police has resulted in concrete facilities for women policemen along with crime control. This model should be adopted at the state level. Additional Superintendent of Police South Anukriti Sharma said that Sambhal is the first district of the state. Where this facility has been made available in every police station.
In the program, ADG Bareilly Zone Ramit Sharma said that the cooperation between police and industry is an effective example of women empowerment and sensitive administration.
DIG Muniraj ji said that the success of the investigation has paved the way for social cooperation. SP Krishna Kumar Vishnoi said that this facility will help women policemen in balancing work and family. During this, Tata AIG Vice President Devang Pandey was also prominently present.
This is how the construction happened: Now there are 17 police stations in the district. In which Raisatti and Babrala police stations were built within a gap of two months. Therefore, this arrangement has been made in the previous 15 police stations. The construction of the room was facilitated by Tata AIG and Round Table India organization. The cost of the room ranges from two to two and a half lakhs.
In these rooms built in police stations, there is arrangement for children to play as well as sleep. Apart from this, 10 scooties have been given by ICICI Prudential and five by India First.
This is how the revelation happened: On January 18, 2025, ASP Anukriti Sharma stopped a Scorpio while checking at night. In that, two people including Omkareshwar Mishra of Varanasi were arrested with cash worth Rs 11.44 lakh.
19 debit and credit cards along with other documents and four phones were recovered from them. In these, a large network of insurance policy fraud was exposed through more than 30 thousand digital documents.
Investigation revealed interstate gangs active in 12 states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar. So far, more than 25 FIRs have been registered in different districts.
70 accused have been arrested. 25 accused have taken gangster action. Properties of the three accused in Sambhal, Moradabad, Varanasi and Noida have also been attached. The gang used to take insurance in the name of dying and dead people and in the name of verification used to issue fraudulent claims.
