On Sunday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta laid the foundation stone of development works worth Rs 304 crore in Badarpur, Sangam Vihar and Deoli.

Jagran correspondent, South Delhi. On Sunday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta laid the foundation stone of development works worth Rs 304 crore in three assembly constituencies of the capital Delhi - Badarpur, Sangam Vihar and Deoli. About 25 lakh population of all the three areas live in unauthorized colonies, where till now there is no proper arrangement for sewer, roads, drinking water, wedding halls etc.

Sewer lines will be laid at a cost of Rs 85 crore in Badarpur, Rs 115 crore in Sangam Vihar and Rs 104 crore in Deoli, pipelines for drinking water will be laid and UGR will be built. Along with repairing roads and streets, new drains will be made to drain rain water during monsoon.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government has been in power in Delhi for 11 months so far. This time was spent in solving the debt imposed on Delhi by emptying the treasury of the previous government. The promises made by the Bharatiya Janata Party to the public during the Delhi elections will also be fulfilled. This Holi, the money for free cylinder will go into everyone's account.

Women will also soon get the amount of Rs 2500 they get every month. People of Delhi are getting clean water to drink. A full meal is available for five rupees through Atal Canteen. Right now the government has been in office for only 11 months, let it last five years and then see the work. In Okhla, 54 lakh metric tonnes of garbage used to lie on the mountain, today that garbage has reduced to only 22 lakh metric tonnes.

When the mountain of garbage ends, a hospital or college will be built there, so that the people nearby can benefit from it. Emphasis is being laid on increasing civic facilities in Badarpur, Sangam Vihar and Deoli. MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for connecting Badarpur with metro, removing sewer line and O-zone from the area as well as for the works done in public interest. On this occasion, Delhi Rural Development Board Chairman Rajkumar Chauhan, former Mayor Jai Prakash JP, BJP District President Maya Singh Bisht etc. were present.

These problems are there in all three assembly constituencies

The biggest problem in Badarpur assembly is the problem of "O-zone" in Harinagar and Jaitpur areas. Because of this, people here are not able to even get their houses repaired. Due to the bad condition of the dam road, accidents are happening every day. There is a drinking water crisis in Sangam Vihar and Deoli. There is no pipeline in most areas. People depend on tankers. There is no sewer line in half the area, even where it exists, it is unplanned.

Due to this one has to face the problem of sewer jam. The biggest problem in both these areas is lack of drainage. During monsoon, when rain water from the hills fills the roads by two to three feet. Despite being densely populated, these areas do not even have marriage halls for community events.
