Voter list leaked before reaching Kolkata (file photo)
State Bureau, Jagran, Kolkata. The list of doubtful voters identified through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bengal reached the office of the state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) from Delhi on Saturday night.
However, this list was leaked on Saturday morning itself. The Election Commission has sought a report regarding this from the concerned district election officers and election registration officers.
Election Commission raised questions
This list was hung in the designated offices in various districts on Saturday morning itself. The Commission has asked how this list reached the country in the first place and who put it up? Questions are also being raised on whether the list that was hung is authentic or not.
Sources in the CEO office said that efforts are also being made to find out what is the intention behind doing so. This may mislead voters and send a wrong message about the Election Commission. The Election Commission has also sent a list of 'no-mapping' voters along with doubtful voters.
