Jagran correspondent, Paonta Sahib. A big dispute has arisen regarding land in Surajpur of Paonta Sahib subdivision of Sirmaur. On Friday, some women of Surajpur reached Nahan with The Great Khali and met Deputy Commissioner Sirmaur Priyanka Verma.
He submitted the entire complaint to the Deputy Commissioner alleging an attempt to illegally occupy the land. During the meeting, Khali and the women informed the Deputy Commissioner about the entire matter and demanded fair action. He said that the administration should conduct a proper investigation and provide justice to the families living there.
The complainants say that they are co-owners of 28-08 bighas of land. Have been living there for the last five decades. But now sudden pressure is being put on the families and attempts are being made to grab their land. Speaking to the media in Nahan, Khali said that on May 20, some people tried to forcibly take possession of the land.
Serious allegations against revenue officer
Villagers, women and complainants reached the spot and foiled this attempt. It has been said in the complaint that this entire action was taken with the connivance of revenue officials.
The second incident occurred on 18 July. The accused people again tried to enter the ground. The complainants say that the land has been in their possession for years. Despite this, illegal methods are being adopted again and again.
It is also alleged in the complaint that the concerned Tehsildar and some revenue officers are misusing their powers.
They are ignoring the rules to benefit private individuals. According to the complaint, attempts are being made to wrongly manipulate the revenue records and all this is being done without any legal process.
What did the officials say on Khali's claim?
At the same time, by evening, Tehsildar Paonta Sahib Rishabh Sharma himself came in front of the media in Paonta Sahib and rejected all the allegations of Khali with facts. The Tehsildar has completely denied all the allegations.
They say that the land on which the women and Khali are claiming is not actually theirs. The Tehsildar also said that the Revenue Department is working as per its legal procedure.
The land in question is the case of Vimla Devi vs. Hemlata, village Surajpur, which was registered in Naib Tehsildar Court Paonta Sahib under case number 11/25.
Attempt to put pressure on government officials
This matter has been decided on 25 March 2025 itself. Tehsildar Rishabh Sharma alleged that Khali was trying to put pressure on government officials by taking advantage of his fame.
He said Khali had reached his office with around 50 people on October 27, where he was shown all the revenue records and facts related to the case for about three hours.
According to the Tehsildar, the land that Khali is currently claiming to be in possession of falls in Khata No. 6, while his actual land is located in Khata No. 8. Khali was advised that if there is any kind of doubt then he should get a trace done or obtain a stay order from the Honorable Court.
The Tehsildar also alleged that despite this, on November 23 (Sunday), Khali called some people from Punjab, who had sharp weapons in their hands, and forcibly demarcated the disputed land.
He urged Khali to apply in writing to clarify the exact status of the land and get the process of marking done from any higher officer, so that the dispute can be resolved administratively.
