Smuggling Of Liquor From Chandigarh, Jam Being Spilled In Punjab, Raid In Zirakpur, Customer Absconding - Dhaba Owner Arrested

Meanwhile, some people were found drinking alcohol at a dhaba located in front of Preet Palace Market on Furniture Road in Baltana, Zirakpur.

As soon as they saw the team, the people present at the spot ran away. During the search, an open half bottle of Royal General brand, which is said to be authorized for sale only in Chandigarh, was recovered from the table of the dhaba. Apart from this, a sealed pav of Old Monk Rum, an empty bottle of Royal Stag brand, a water jug ​​and two plastic glasses were found, which were confirmed to contain liquor.

The police controlled the dhaba owner. During interrogation, he revealed his name as Channan Singh, who is a resident of Sector-19, Panchkula. Liquor and other items recovered from his possession were confiscated.

On the basis of written complaint of Excise Inspector Gurpreet Singh, a case has been registered in Zirakpur police station and investigating officer has been appointed. Police say that liquor was being served at the dhaba without any valid permission, which is a legal offence. The joint team of police and excise department is also trying to find out from where the illegal liquor was being supplied.
