With this in mind, special dishes are being fed to the protected bears and elephants in the conservation center to protect them from winter. The elephants are being kept warm with halogen lights. Karthik Satyanarayan, co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, said that at the Bear Conservation Center, special diets are being given to the protected bears to protect them from winter.

A mixture of hot spices like turmeric, ginger, garlic, black salt, celery is being given.

Hot porridge made from millet and ragi is served, to which jaggery and boiled eggs are also added. Special ingredients prepared from puffed rice, jaggery and peanuts are also being fed to the bears. The resting places have been spread with chaff and paddy straw. Tarpaulin has also been arranged to protect the old bears from the cold wind.

Dr S Ilaiyaraaja, deputy director of veterinary services at Wildlife SOS, said special arrangements have been made to protect the elephants protected at the Churmura Conservation Center from the cold.
