Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. The Directorate of Education has decided to conduct special classes for the students of classes 9th to 12th during the winter vacations, so that the academic preparation of the students can be strengthened and their performance can be improved before the pre-board and board examinations.
These classes will be run from January 1, 2026 to January 9, 2026. According to the directorate, during the winter vacations, all government schools will remain closed from January 1 to 15, but special classes will be held for classes 9 to 12.
In the morning shift, the class timings will be from 9 am to 1 pm, while in the evening shift, the class time will be from 1 pm to 5 pm. In double shift schools, classes will be held in separate wings if needed.
For classes 9th and 10th, special emphasis will be given to English, Science and Mathematics. Teachers have been instructed to practice board pattern questions and teach students better answer writing techniques. It will be mandatory for students to come in school uniform only.
The directorate directed principals to inform parents in advance and ensure that students attend special classes regularly. Besides, district and zonal DDE officers have been instructed to inspect at least two schools daily, so that classes can be conducted properly. Services of guest teachers and contract teachers will be taken as and when required.
