Sugar mill sent defamation notice of Rs 5 crore to BKU Lokshakti leader and son

Jagran Correspondent, Bijnor: Barkatpur Mill of Uttam Sugar Mills Limited has sent a defamation notice of Rs 5 crore to BKU Lokshakti District President and Uttarakhand in-charge Veer Singh and his son Ankit Kumar. In the notice, Veer Singh and Ankit have been accused of stopping sugarcane weighing in the mill without any reason, instigating the farmers against the mill and abusing the employees. Due to this, a payment of Rs 5 crore has been made in lieu of the loss caused due to the interruption in the reputation and operation of the mill. If the notice is not responded to within a week, it has been warned that a case will be filed in the competent court.

In the notice sent by Supreme Court advocate Devansh Shekhar on behalf of the mill, he said that a unit of Uttam Sugar Mills Limited Company is in village Barkatpur of Bijnor. Said that on the night of December 5 at ten o'clock, Ankit Kumar, son of BKU Lokshakti District President Veer Singh, resident of Chamraula village, came to weigh the sugarcane on the sugarcane slip of Sukkhi, wife of Pawan, resident of village Mayapuri. After weighing the sugarcane, Ankit created a ruckus without any reason and abused the mill officials and employees and got the weighing stopped. Accused of skimming. Farmers' vehicles are weighed on a single fork in the mill. Ankit instigated the farmers by talking openly against the mill. The next day Veer Singh came to the mill with his colleagues and abused the employees and staged a protest. Veer Singh also filed a complaint in the police station in the false case of Ghatauli. Even before this, on November 24, Ankit had assaulted weighing clerk Bahendra Singh when he was prevented from bringing sugarcane with root leaves to the mill and the weighing was stopped. This has hurt the company's reputation, business, social standing and good reputation.

Notice of Rs 5 crore given in defamation case
