Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. IVRI's office assistant living in a rented house was strangled to death. His body was hanged from the rod of the ventilator to make it look like suicide. The young man's conductor wife was inside the room at the time of the incident. When the police asked, she could not tell anything. The youth's brother has filed an FIR against the youth's in-laws including his wife for abetting suicide. However, police say that based on the post mortem report he will be booked for murder.
Jitendra Kumar, originally a resident of Etawah Bharthana, was posted as office assistant in IVRI. For the last nine years, he was having an affair with Jyoti, a resident of Durganagar in Baradari. Jyoti is posted as a conductor in Bareilly depot of Roadways. On November 25, Jitendra and Jyoti got married with the consent of the family. After this both started living together.
According to the police, about 25 days ago both of them started living in a rented house at Kamal Saxena's house in Kailash Puram, Izzatnagar. Relatives allege that Jyoti and Jitendra did not get along. Jyoti used to torture him every day. According to the police, on the morning of January 26, the police received information that Jitendra had committed suicide by hanging himself from the ventilator of the room.
This information was given by the cousin brother of deceased Jitendra who is posted as warder in the Central Jail. By the time the police reached the spot, Jyoti's parents had also arrived. The body was hanging from the ventilator, but its legs were not removed from the stool. The tongue was coming out and questions started flashing in the mind of the police. When the post-mortem was conducted, the cause of death was not hanging but strangulation.
From this it became clear that Jitendra had not committed suicide but his body was hanged after being killed. When the police interrogated his wife Jyoti, she could not tell anything clearly. In such a situation, many people have come under the suspicion of the police. Deceased Jitendra's brother Ajay Kumar has filed an FIR against Jitendra's wife Jyoti, mother-in-law Chameli, father-in-law Kali Charan and brother-in-law Deepak for abetting suicide before the post-mortem. Police say that a detailed investigation is being conducted in the matter.
The post-mortem report of the young man has revealed strangulation. Before the post-mortem, an FIR has been registered on the complaint letter of the youth's brother. Now, on the basis of the report, it will be upgraded to murder and further legal action will be taken.
