Sunil Shetty had not rejected tobacco advertisement worth Rs 40 crore

Entertainment Desk, New Delhi. In a film career spanning more than three decades, Sunil Shetty has made his mark not only as a versatile actor but also as a person with strong principles. Recently, he made a revelation about himself that following his principles, he had rejected the offer of tobacco advertisement. For which he was going to get Rs 40 crores.

Why did Sunil reject this advertisement?

The actor told his children the reason behind rejecting this offer. The actor said that he had turned down an offer of Rs 40 crore to endorse a tobacco product to set a good example for his children - Ahaan and Athiya. Explaining his decision, Sunil shared how he has very strong personal principles which he follows in his professional life as well.

In an interview, Sunil told that he had deliberately decided that he would never endorse tobacco products. The actor said, 'I got an offer of Rs 40 crore for a tobacco ad. I looked at him and said, 'Do you think I would do this for money?' I won't.' Maybe I needed that money, but no, I won't do that'.

He further said, 'This is something that I do not believe. I will not do anything that will tarnish Ahaan and Athiya. Now no one dares to come to me with such offers. Suniel Shetty also talked about the death of his father Veerappa Shetty in 2017, after which he took a break from acting. He said, 'Before passing in 2017, dad was ill since 2014 and I was taking care of him. I was not in the right mental state. I had left work completely. And then he passed away.

The actor made a comeback after 6-7 years, he said, 'On the morning of my father's death, I got an offer to do a health show. I took it as a sign and then I came back to acting and did some South films. When you take a gap of 6-7 years, you feel that you don't know your craft, that things have changed, and no one knows you, everyone is new, so I was not comfortable'.

Transformation took place after the pandemic

Sunil Shetty also told about his transformation after the pandemic. He said, 'After the pandemic, I started looking at myself differently. I composed myself, I started training, reading and doing many other things. Then I became so confident in myself that I felt that I did not need validation from anyone.
