After the revelation of a fake bitumen factory operating behind the school in Athaiya village located on Sikandrau Marg, the police took major action and sent six accused to jail. This illegal business was busted on Friday in a joint action of Lucknow STF, district police, Public Works Department (PWD) and Supply Department.
Names of a total of 11 people have come to light in the case, against whom an FIR has been registered in Dholna police station. The police is now seriously investigating to break the entire network of this gang.
Network spread till Nepal, 11 names surfaced
On Friday, based on information, STF raided the school located behind Athaiya village and caught a factory producing fake bitumen. Four tankers were seized from the spot and six accused were arrested. Investigation revealed that fake bitumen was being prepared by mixing stone dust in the factory, which was being supplied from Mathura to Nepal. This fake bitumen was being used in road construction, due to which serious questions have been raised on the quality of the roads.
Big revelation due to joint action of STF, police and departments
The arrested accused include Chandrapal, Vikram, Jignesh, Umesh, Avneesh and Mahipal. The police have thoroughly interrogated everyone, in which many important information has come to light. However, in view of the possibility of the investigation being affected, the police have kept these facts confidential for the time being. Police officials say that further action is being taken on the basis of clues found during interrogation.
Police sent six accused to jail
Inspector Govind Vallabh Sharma said that after interrogation, all the six accused were produced in the court and sent to jail. He said that the network of bitumen mafia is very wide and investigation is going on on various aspects to destroy it completely. Soon the role of other people involved in this illegal business will also be exposed. Police claims that in the coming days, there can be more big revelations in this matter, which will completely curb the business of fake bitumen.
