A huge quantity of liquor has been recovered in Banka.
Samvad Sutra, Barahat (Banka). Police have seized a large consignment of English liquor being taken from West Bengal to Gorakhpur via Banka on the Bhagalpur-Dumka main road. During the search, a total of 10,372.50 liters of English liquor of various brands was recovered from the truck. The value of the seized liquor has been estimated by the police at Rs 1 crore.
The consignment was being taken from West Bengal to Gorakhpur.
According to the information, on the basis of information from the state headquarters and on the instructions of SP Upendranath Verma, a vehicle checking campaign was conducted on the Bhagalpur-Dumka main road. In this sequence, the truck coming from Hansdiha was stopped near Barahat police station.
SP took stock of the incident
Truck driver Anil Kumar (23 years), resident of Daidol Baingan Chowk, Police Station Sakra of Muzaffarpur district, has been arrested from the spot. The police is interrogating him and trying to find out from where the liquor consignment was brought. Where was the supply to be done and who are the people involved in this smuggling network.
After the seized liquor, SP Upendranath Verma reached Barahat police station and got information about the entire matter. Station head Mahesh Kumar, police sub-inspector Suraj Singh, Prabhakar Kumar, Harendra Kumar Sharma and police force and home guard personnel were included. Police say that the entire network will be exposed after thoroughly investigating the matter.
