State Bureau, Chandigarh. Haryana government has decided to extend metro till Bhondsi of Gurugram. Work on this project has started. The government has appointed M/s RITES as consultant for this project.
Responding to the question of BJP MLA from Sohna Tejpal Tanwar in the Assembly on Tuesday, Social Welfare Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi, on behalf of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, said that the government will extend the metro from Gurugram to Bhondsi.
Metro rail connectivity from Bhondsi onwards to Sohna will be considered on the basis of detailed project report and techno-economic feasibility. At present, the decision has been taken to extend the metro from Bhondsi to Subhash Chowk, Rajiv Chowk to the railway station. Explaining the importance of Sohna, Tejpal Tanwar raised the issue of metro expansion.
