Jagran correspondent, Mainpuri. The mentally ill woman who went missing two days before Diwali was murdered by none other than her brother. Frustrated with the taunts of the people, the accused strangled and killed his sister and threw the body in the field with the help of his friend. On Saturday, the police arrested the murder accused and sent him to jail. Now the police is searching for the cooperating accused.
Troubled by people's taunts, he committed suicide by strangulation, dead body was found in the fields on October 22.
The in-laws house of Rupam Mishra, 40-year-old mentally ill daughter of Radhaballabh Mishra, resident of village Ajitganj of Elau police station area, was Gadhiya Bahadurpur village of Saurikh police station area of Kannauj district. On September 28, husband Sanjeev Tiwari had left Rupam at her parents' home. She suddenly went missing from home around 6 pm on 18 October 2025, two days before Diwali. Even after extensive search, no trace of him was found, so a missing complaint was lodged at Elau police station on 20th October. On the evening of 22 October, Rupam's body was found lying on the side of a field in Elau village.
Police conducted post-mortem and confirmed strangulation.
When the post-mortem of the body was conducted, the report confirmed murder by strangulation. SWAT team was deployed to uncover the murder. When the team investigated, a shocking thing came to light. The murder was committed by none other than Vipin Mishra, the real brother of the deceased. On Saturday, the police arrested the murder accused from his home. During interrogation, Vipin accepted his crime.
Police sent the murder accused to jail, search continues for the accused who cooperated
The accused told that people used to taunt his sister because she was mentally ill. Regarding this, on the evening of 18th October, there was an altercation with the sister in the tube well chamber located at some distance from the house and Rupam slapped her and strangulated her. In defense, he also strangulated her, resulting in the death of her sister. After this, he kept the body in the car along with his companion and threw it in the bushes on the side of the field in Elau. The police sent the murdered brother to jail after presenting him in the court. Now the police is searching for the accomplice of the accused.
CO City Santosh Singh said that the accused has accepted the crime. His associate is being searched.

Brother hid the crime for three and a half months
