Communication partner, Garhmukteshwar. A protest was going on in the tehsil courtyard demanding removal of toll, construction of a bridge over the Ganga between Tigri and Lathira and extension of the bypass to Sayana intersection. The strike was ended on Saturday on the assurance of the DM.
Social worker Pankaj Lodhi had been protesting for the last 26 days demanding removal of toll plaza from the municipal limits and other demands. Pankaj Lodhi said that Garhmukteshwar and Brajghat are two parts of the same municipality. In such a situation, people are being given financial loss by making toll in between.
Hundreds of people commute daily from Garhmukteshwar and Brajghat. In such a situation, they have to pay toll for commuting in their own municipality. Apart from this, a protest was going on demanding construction of a bridge on Ganga between Lathira and Tigri. DM Abhishek Pandey, who reached the protest site on Saturday, said that the process of building a bridge on the Ganga between Tigri and Lathira is going on.
During this, he showed the map made regarding the bridge there. Regarding the Brajghat bypass which is proposed to be constructed from the Garhmukteshwar Municipality border near the toll plaza, he said that it is not on the ground. Pankaj Lodhi said that the DM has called a delegation to his office on 20th regarding the shortcomings of the toll plaza in Garh Brajghat border, in which the shortcomings will be put on the table before the concerned toll officers.
After this, social worker Pankaj Lodhi ended the dharna. On this occasion, Monty Chaudhary, Jai Singh Rana, Bablu Sehgal, Krishnaveer Singh, Pushpendra Chaudhary, Anand Gurjar alias Bablu Pradhan, Majid Thakur, Rajkumar Chaudhary, Rakesh Swami, Vishnu Dutt Nagar, Gaurav Rai Gautam, Himanshu Rai, Sushil Kumar, Vipin Gautam, Dheeraj Kumar, Advocate Kunwarpal, Sandeep Nishad, Advocate Deepak Kumar, Umesh Kumar Lodhi, Kapil Lodhi, Pushpendra etc. were present.
