Jagran correspondent, Baghpat. On the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Day-2026, a blackout mock drill will be held on 23 January, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Regarding its preparation, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of ADM Vineet Kumar Upadhyay in the Collectorate Auditorium on Friday.
In the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding selection of venue for the mock drill, preparation of action plan in coordination with all concerned departments, selection of volunteers and starting of the mock drill at the scheduled time.
During the mock drill, sirens will be sounded to warn of air raids. As soon as the siren sounds, power supply will be cut off in the affected areas and blackout will be done and citizens will be made to practice the process of taking shelter.
When the air attack ends, an all clear siren will be sounded. In the mock drill, civil defense volunteers will demonstrate the process of extinguishing small fires, giving first aid to the injured, taking seriously injured to hospital by ambulance and safely evacuating people from collapsed buildings.
Control of major fires will be performed by the fire department and emergency medical services will be performed by the health department.
Civil Defense, Power Corporation, Fire, Health Department, NDRF, SDRF, DDMA, Police Administration and District Administration will participate in this mock drill.
Blackout mock drill will be organized under the direction of DM and Controller, Civil Defense. CMO Dr. Tirath Lal, Deputy Collector, Deputy Controller Civil Defense Baghpat Manish Kumar Yadav etc. were present.
