Due to dense fog in the Knowledge Park Kotwali area, the car of a 27-year-old software engineer Yuvraj Mehta collided with the drainage boundary and fell into the water filled basement under construction, resulting in his painful death. There is anger among the people of the area due to this incident. The incident happened near Sector 150 on Friday night, when tech engineer Yuvraj Mehta was returning home by car from his office in Gurugram.
Story of rescue efforts, as told by eyewitnesses
Munendra Kumar, a delivery boy of an online company, is an eyewitness to the incident. Around one o'clock he had gone to a nearby society to deliver an order. While returning, we stopped there after seeing the crowd.
He says that Yuvraj was standing on the car continuously pleading for help, but the people present there did not come down due to fear of cold water, bars and deep water. He showed courage and tried to save the prince by tying a rope around his waist and wading into the water for about thirty minutes, but could not succeed.
Residents expressed their displeasure by raising slogans
After the incident, on Saturday, a heap of soil and debris was poured before the basement by the authority. The residents reached the incident site and expressed their displeasure and raised slogans in the evening. The police somehow pacified him and sent him home.
On the other hand, after post-mortem, the police handed over the body to the relatives. The body was cremated in Safipur. The father, close relatives of the family and friends of the youth have participated. Friends told that Yuvraj was working in a company based in Gurugram for about one and a half years.
