Himachal Pradesh Panchayats, An amount of Rs 170 crore has been released by the Central Government under the 15th Finance Commission for development works in 3577 Panchayats of Himachal Pradesh. This amount has come to the treasury of the state government, in which 70 percent of the grant has been distributed to Panchayats, 15 percent to Block Committees and 15 percent to District Council. This will give impetus to the development works pending in the Panchayats.
Tied and untied funds approved
The Center had approved Rs 68 crore under the untied fund on September 24, 2025, and Rs 102 crore under the tied fund on October 29, 2025. After this, a total amount of Rs 170 crore has been released.
These works will be done in Panchayats
With this amount, sanitation, drinking water, road construction, construction of walls and other development works can be completed in Panchayats. This amount, both untied and tied, is distributed in prescribed proportions in the three-tier system.

The amount for any department is determined in two ways. TIDE fund is an amount which can be spent only on prescribed schemes, such as sanitation and drinking water. At the same time, untied fund is the one which can be spent on any development work, like construction of roads, construction of walls, and releasing funds for the development works of Yuvak Mandal and Mahila Mandal in Panchayats.
