Jagran correspondent, Saharanpur. The proposal of the Public Works Department for improving rural connectivity by widening them has been approved by the government. Two roads of 33 km in Deoband and Nakur assembly constituencies will be improved by widening them.
Work on both these roads will be done at a cost of approximately Rs 21 crore. More than one lakh population of more than 23 villages will benefit.
The state government has prepared an action plan for the improvement of rural connectivity and has given responsibility to different departments. The Public Works Department had sent proposals for widening and improvement of two roads in Deoband and Nakur assembly constituencies to the government.
Apart from the Miragpur road from Deoband's Government Inter College via Talheri Khurd, Manki, the road from Kheda Afghan to Harpal, Umahi Kalan, Rampur Maniharan in Nakur area will be widened and improved.
Approval of Rs. 9.90 crore has been received for the Deoband road and Rs. 11.15 crore for the Nakur road. The work on both these roads will be completed within three months of the start of construction. The length of both the roads is approximately 33 km.
The width of the roads will be increased from 3.5 meters to five meters. The improvement of roads will benefit a population of more than one lakh in 23 villages of both the areas. According to Gagan, Superintending Engineer of Public Works Department, the process of construction of roads will be started soon.
