CRPF jawan Ramesh Kumar, resident of ward number 5 of Murawatpur Panchayat under Sahadei Elderly block of Mahnar sub-division area, was martyred while on duty in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. As soon as the news of martyrdom was received, a wave of mourning ran in the entire area including Murawatpur village.
As soon as the mortal remains of the martyred soldier reached his native village on Monday, a crowd of people gathered to have the last glimpse of the tricolor wrapped body. The eyes of the people who came for the last darshan became moist. Seeing the screams of their relatives, tears started flowing from everyone's eyes.
Martyr Ramesh Kumar was the son of Late Ram Iqbal Rai and Late Manti Devi. He was posted as Naik in 62 RR battalion of Rashtriya Rifles. He joined Rashtriya Rifles in 2013 and was trained in Roorkee. Presently he was posted in the service of the country in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, where in the line of duty he made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland.
Ramesh Kumar was the youngest of nine siblings. As soon as the family members received the news of martyrdom through telephone, there was chaos in the house. Wife Priyanka Devi, elder brother Vinod Rai and other relatives are in bad condition. Apart from his wife, Shaheed leaves behind 10-year-old son Ishaan and 8-year-old daughter Ishani.
According to the villagers, Ramesh Kumar had come home about six months ago to attend his niece's wedding. Then no one thought that that meeting would be their last. During the funeral procession, villagers, public representatives and youth held the tricolor in their hands and raised deafening slogans of “Shaheed Ramesh Kumar Amar Rahein” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. The entire village was immersed in a sad atmosphere, but pride for the brave son who sacrificed his life for the country was clearly visible on every face.
The people of Mahnar subdivision area will always remember the martyrdom of Martyr Ramesh Kumar. His sacrifice will remain an inspiration not only for the region but for the coming generations of the entire country.
