Jagran correspondent, Bathinda. Bathinda's Civil Lines police station has registered a case against an unknown driver in connection with the death of a youth in a road accident. This accident happened due to a trolley standing in the middle of the road, which has once again raised questions on road safety and administrative negligence in the foggy season.
In the complaint given to the police, Sukhdarshan Singh, resident of village Musa in Mansa district, told that he was coming in a Bolero pickup car with his relative Dharampreet Singh. When they reached near Bhai Matidas Nagar, a trolley was parked in the middle of the road. Due to heavy fog, the trolley was not visible and their car collided with it. The accident was so horrific that Dharampreet Singh died on the spot, while Sukhdarshan Singh was seriously injured.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Civil Line police station reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. Based on the statement of Sukhdarshan Singh, the police have registered a case against the unknown trolley driver.
The accused is being identified
The case is being investigated by Assistant Police Station Officer Kaur Singh. Police say that efforts are being made to identify the accused driver on the basis of CCTV cameras installed nearby and other evidence. Whereas this accident happened at a time when there was dense fog in the entire area.

Due to fog, visibility becomes extremely low and heavy vehicles parked on the roadside or in the middle of the road are proving fatal. It is noteworthy that Dainik Jagran has been continuously raising the issue of accidents caused by vehicles parked on the roadside. Despite this, neither strictness nor effective action was taken by the administration.
