Big update regarding commencement of traffic on 594 KM long Ganga Expressway
State Bureau, Lucknow. The construction work of Ganga Expressway is in the final stage. The construction of 594 km of the main road of the expressway has been completed, but for the safety of the drivers, boundary walls and metal beam crash barriers are being constructed on 295 km of the expressway.
Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi has given the target of completing its construction by March to Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEDA). As a result, its operation can be started in April.
The Industrial Development Minister reviewed the construction of the expressway by holding a meeting with UPEDA officials at Pikup Bhawan on Saturday. UPEDA officials said that the construction work of the main road of Ganga Expressway, the largest expressway of the state, has been completed. Before the movement of vehicles starts, work is being done on its protective measures.
Fencing has been done with iron wires along the expressway operating in the state, but people from nearby villages cut the wires and make a path. Due to this the possibility of accident increases. That is why a solid boundary wall is being built along the Ganga Expressway. It will be inaugurated only after its construction.
The Industrial Development Minister directed the officials that the foundation stone of all the newly proposed expressways and link expressways should be laid by October. These include Vindhya Expressway, Vindhya-Purvanchal Link Expressway, Meerut-Haridwar Link Expressway, Chitrakoot-Rewa Link Expressway, Chitrakoot Link Expressway, Lucknow Link Expressway (Agra-Lucknow Expressway to Purvanchal Expressway), Farrukhabad Link Expressway (Ganga Expressway to Agra-Lucknow Expressway), Jewar Link Expressway (Yamuna Expressway, Jewar Airport to Ganga Expressway. Bulandshahr) and Jhansi Link Expressway.
The Minister directed to send the officers posted on deputation in UPEDA for a long time to their native departments and to ensure arrangements for posting of officers from other departments in UPEDA. Said that allotment of plots in disputed cases should be done keeping in mind all the conditions.
