Murder of wife by hitting her with a mortar in Patna
Jagran correspondent, Patna. A domestic dispute took a painful form on Wednesday in Shastri Nagar police station area of Patna. According to the information, the reason for the quarrel between husband and wife was the wife's participation in Sai Shobha Yatra. The husband did not like this, due to which the dispute escalated so much that he raised his hand and attacked the wife with a mortar.
The incident took place in Machli Gali area. According to neighbors and local people, the husband was already angry about this visit of his wife. During the dispute, he attacked his wife with a mortar. The seriously injured woman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but doctors declared her dead.
The local police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. SDPO Secretariat 2 Saket Kumar said that there was a fight between the couple over the fact that the wife participated in the Sai Shobha Yatra. During the dispute, the husband caused serious injury to her. The body of the deceased has been sent to iGIMS for post-mortem.
According to the information, the couple are originally residents of Jehanabad. Neighbors say that there used to be minor disputes between the two earlier also, but no one thought that it would take such a serious form. The police are currently interrogating the husband and investigating the reason behind the murder.
This incident again highlights the seriousness of domestic violence in Patna. The police have appealed for cooperation from the family and neighbors and warned of strict action regarding the case.
