Theft In Broad Daylight, 50 Meters Away From IG Residence In Haldwani, Thief Said - 'I Am From Almora, Need A Room On Rent'

Jagran correspondent, Haldwani. A thief stole a box full of jewelery from an elderly woman's house in broad daylight, 50 meters behind the IG office. This incident of theft has also been captured in CCTV. In which he is carrying a heavy box.

Daya Negi, resident of Badripura Ward 11, lives alone in the house. On Thursday, at 12:30 pm, an unknown person came to the house of elderly Daya Negi to see the room. He told the woman that he was a resident of Almora and his sister lived in Kusumkheda. The elderly woman had shown part of the first floor of the house to the unknown person. Whereas she herself lives on the upper floor. Meanwhile, the unknown person told them that he was bringing his wife, children and household items.

As soon as the woman came out to talk to the neighbours, the thief entered the house two floors up. And ran away with a box full of saree, Mangal Sutra, anklets, cash and household documents. As soon as the woman came to know about the theft, she created a ruckus.

Ward-11 councilor Ravi Joshi should call SSP Manjunath TC and inform him about the theft incident. On which Kotwal Vijay Mehta, SS I Rohtas Sagar reached the spot and inspected the spot. Police have searched the surrounding CCTV cameras in which the thief is visible in the footage.
