Communication Associate, Bhiwadi (Rewari). There was chaos after a fire broke out in a chemical factory located in an industrial area in the early hours of Thursday. Seeing the sudden smoke and flames in the factory, the night shift workers were evacuated safely and there was no loss of life.
RIICO fire station received information about the fire at Alka Laboratories at around 6.45 am on Thursday. As soon as the information was received, three fire tenders reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire and after about an hour of effort the fire was brought under control.

Estimate of loss worth lakhs
RIICO fire station in-charge Raju said that on receiving information about fire in Alka Laboratory, fire tenders were immediately dispatched, due to which the fire was controlled before it spread. However, the company is estimated to have suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees due to the fire.
The cause of the fire is not known at present. The factory management is assessing the damage, while the police and fire departments are investigating the matter.
