Jagran correspondent, Buxar. An important initiative was launched by Municipal Council Buxar on Thursday towards the planned development of the city and modernizing the civic amenities.
In the program organized in the Municipal Council Auditorium, the GIS base map and property survey work was formally inaugurated in the presence of Chief Councilor Kamrun Nisha, Deputy Chief Councilor Baby Devi and Executive Officer Kumar Ritwik.
This work is being executed by Vivian Technology under the mandate of Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Bihar.
The project will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, the base map of the entire city will be prepared through state-of-the-art GIS technology.
In the second phase, detailed details of each property will be collected by the survey team by conducting door-to-door survey. The survey is being started from ward number three.
After completion of the survey, each house in the city will be provided a unique house ID, on the basis of which an official number plate will be issued by the Municipal Council.
This will make identification of houses easier and all related data will be securely available on the digital portal of the Municipal Council.
Demarcation will be accurate
During the survey, precise demarcation of roads, railway lines, rivers, canals, historical and cultural sites as well as vacant land will also be done.
This will help in the formulation of future urban plans and their effective implementation. Executive Officer Kumar Ritwik said that this is a multi-purpose socio-economic survey.
Through this, a scientific database of wards, slum areas and municipal body boundaries will be prepared. This will bring transparency in the planning, implementation and revenue collection system of development schemes.
ATPS Vandana has been appointed nodal officer for this work. The team formed by the Municipal Council includes City Manager Raj Mani, Tax Collector Narsingh Choubey, Amin Tileshwar and assistants Amit, Wahid and Ashok.
All ward councilors, empowered committee members and city council officers and employees were present in the meeting. The Municipal Council has appealed to the citizens to provide necessary cooperation to the survey team.
