Jagran correspondent, West Delhi. A one-day free cancer awareness and screening camp was organized at Chau Brahma Prakash Ayurved Charak Sansthan (CBPACS) located in Khaira Dabar. This camp was conducted with the help of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre.

On this occasion, the Director of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Manu Bhai Gaur said that the process of signing an MOU with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center will be started soon, so that more organized and expert services will be available to the patients in future.

The screening camp was organized at Yoga Hall from 9 am to 1 pm, in which health checkup of about 80 patients was done. After this, a cancer awareness lecture was organized in the mini auditorium at 2 pm.

Dr. Shashi Rakheja, Senior Consultant (Department of Preventive Oncology), participated as the keynote speaker on behalf of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center in the awareness program. He provided detailed information on the different types of cancer, their initial symptoms, possible causes and the importance of prevention and timely screening.

During the camp, patients who were found to have confirmed or suspected cancer were immediately referred to Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center for further investigation and treatment, where their complete treatment would be provided free of cost.

On this occasion, Medical Superintendent of the hospital institute, Prof. Dr. Sumer Singh said that such camps prove to be extremely beneficial for the general public, especially the needy patients. He also said that Chau Brahma Prakash Ayurveda Charak Sansthan is committed to providing quality health services and such public health programs will continue to be organized in future also.
