This January Broke Two Years' Cold Record In Delhi, IMD Issued Alert Of Strong Winds And Rain.

State Bureau, New Delhi. It was colder in Delhi in January this year compared to the last two years. The average maximum temperature for the month was 20.0 °C, while the average minimum temperature was 6.8 °C. Last year, in 2025, these figures were 21.1 and 8.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

Similarly, this January, a cold wave lasted for four days. In 2024 this figure was five days. The rainfall this January was the highest in four years since 2022. This year, 25.1 mm rainfall was recorded, whereas the normal rainfall is 19.1 mm.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on Friday was 22.6 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees more than normal. The minimum temperature was 7.7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.7 degrees below normal. The day was sunny as well as cloudy. The humidity level in the air remained between 100 to 50 percent.

According to the forecast, a new western disturbance may affect the weather of Delhi and NCR region over the weekend. Moderate to dense fog, thunderstorms, strong winds of 30 to 40 km/hr and rain are expected on both Saturday and Sunday. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for both these days.
