Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. Fed up with harassment and blackmailing, a 16-year-old girl poured petrol on herself and set herself on fire. The family members immediately admitted the seriously burnt girl to the district hospital, from where she was referred to the medical college. His condition remains critical. On Tuesday, the police reached the hospital and recorded the statement of the victim. The youth accused in the case has been arrested, Gorakhnath police station is conducting raids in search of five others.
The victim's mother has written in the complaint that Zeeshan Khan alias Osama, who lives in the locality, was harassing her daughter. It is alleged that the accused somehow obtained the photos and videos of the girl, edited them and started threatening to broadcast them on the internet media.
When the family came to know about it, they asked for marriage, after this the accused demanded Rs 10 lakh and also pressurized them to bear the entire expenses of one thousand wedding processions on the condition of marriage.
The family members also allege that Zeeshan and his relatives reached the girl's father's office and threatened to kill her, from where she saved her life by running away. The girl was under deep stress due to constant threats and mental pressure. Frustrated by this mental torture, the girl poured petrol on herself and set herself on fire on January 21.

Suddenly there was shouting in the house. The family somehow extinguished the fire and immediately took him to the district hospital, from where he was referred to the medical college as his condition became critical. According to doctors, the condition of the girl remains critical.
Gorakhnath police station has registered a case against Zeeshan Khan alias Osama, his father Javed, mother Chandni, aunt Rosie and Salman in this case. SP City Abhinav Tyagi said that the main accused Zeeshan has been arrested and sent to jail, the search for others is going on. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.
