TMBU Budget 2026-27: Rs 11.66 Billion Passed After Syndicate Approval, Preparations Discussed For Senate Meeting

Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. The syndicate meeting of Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) was held at Marwari College on Tuesday. Incharge Vice Chancellor Prof. In the meeting held under the chairmanship of Vimalendu Shekhar Jha, a budget of Rs 11 billion 66 crore 67 lakh 90 thousand 361 was passed for the financial year 2026–27. After approval from the Syndicate, this budget will now be placed in the Senate meeting to be held on January 17. About 40 agendas were discussed in the meeting, in which members expressed their strong objection and displeasure on many issues.

Syndicate member Shailesh Singh raised questions on the process by raising the issue of TNB College Principal Dr. Dipo Mahato. He said that after resigning from the engineering college, he should have first contributed to Marwari College and only then joined TNB College. Syndicate member Dr. Mrityunjay Singh Ganga raised the issue of encroached land of the university. Taking a serious stand on this, the Syndicate immediately summoned the State Officer and instructed him to prepare the accounts related to the land and send it to the Revenue Department. The Vice Chancellor said that an effort should have been made to submit a memorandum on this issue during the Deputy Chief Minister's visit to Bhagalpur.

Long debate went on in the case of Dr. Rambalak Chaudhary

The most important and controversial issue of the meeting was related to the service confirmation of Dr. Rambalak Chaudhary, Research Officer of Agro Economics Research Centre. There was a long debate on this. Members told that the decision of the High Court in this matter has come in favor of Dr. Chaudhary. It was informed that his service was made permanent one year after his appointment in January 2009, but later the university considered it to be temporary and canceled it and made it permanent again in August 2016, against which he had gone to court. On this the Vice Chancellor said that the matter is still pending in the court.

Approved the application related to Dr. Sudhir's lien

In the meeting, the application related to the lien of Dr. Sudhir of PBS College was approved. Syndicate member Dr. Nirlensh raised the issue of renewal of contract workers. He said that contract employees have not been renewed in some other colleges including Kahalgaon, Marwari College. On this, the Vice Chancellor assured that a simple and practical process will be adopted for increasing the experience and salary of contractual employees.

Dr. Anand Mishra again apologized to the Vice Chancellor

An uncomfortable situation also arose during the meeting on the issue related to Dr. Anand Mishra. Syndicate member Dr. Sanjeev Singh expressed displeasure over this topic coming up in the House. Later Dr. Anand Mishra again apologized to the Vice Chancellor from the meeting. On this, Mahadev Singh College Secretary Shailesh Singh said that withdrawal of suspension will be considered only after a written apology is given.

Discussion on preparations for Senate meeting

Preparations for the Senate meeting to be held at Marwari College on January 17 were also discussed in the syndicate. Dr. Mrityunjay Singh Ganga will present the annual report in the Senate, while the actual accounts will be kept by Dr. Mushfiq Alam. The Vice Chancellor reviewed the minute-to-minute program outline of the meeting. Earlier, the Vice Chancellor was welcomed under the leadership of Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jha, Principal of Marwari College. In view of the syndicate meeting, Proctor Dr. S.D. Jha remained fully prepared. He had inspected the college a day earlier and taken stock of the security arrangements.
