Jagran Correspondent, Dehradun: The series of accidents at ISBT Chowk is not stopping. A person riding a bicycle under the bridge was crushed by a truck loaded with bricks. The person was sent to the hospital in critical condition, where the injured died. The accused driver fled leaving the truck. The police have taken possession of the truck and called the owner and he is being interrogated.
The incident occurred at 11:40 am on Monday. Mahavir Singh, resident of Dharawali Chandramani, native of Baijro Pauri Garhwal, who works in a firecracker factory, was going towards Kargi Chowk on bicycle for some work.
During this time, a truck filled with bricks was also going from ISBT towards Kargi Chowk. As the truck was turning for Haridwar bypass under the bridge, it hit the cyclist. Mahavir Singh was badly injured after being hit by the rear tires of the truck, he was taken to the hospital for treatment, where he died on the way.
After the incident, the accused truck driver fled towards Brahmanwala. The police is conducting raids in search of the accused, while the owner of the truck is being called to the police station and information about the driver is being collected from him.
