Jagran correspondent, Almora. A painful road accident took place on National Highway 309B on Saturday near Dalband in Badechina area. The scooter rider died on the spot after being hit by a speeding truck. As soon as information about the accident was received, there was chaos in the area and local people gathered on the spot.
According to eyewitnesses, the scooty rider was going towards Almora when a truck coming from the front hit him hard. The collision was so severe that the scooter rider fell on the road and got seriously injured and died on the spot. After the incident, the truck driver stopped at the spot along with the vehicle.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, took possession of the body and started filling the Panchnama. Efforts are being made to identify the deceased. Also, the police have taken possession of the truck and started interrogating the driver. At the same time, SO Dhaulchina Sunil Bisht said that the real reasons of the accident are being ascertained. Preliminary investigation is suspecting speeding and negligence. After post-mortem the body will be handed over to the relatives. The body is being identified. There is a wave of mourning in the area after this accident.
