Now the tribals started becoming aware. photo awakening
Dr. Pranesh, Sahibganj. The issue of Bangladeshi infiltration in the district has been raised for years. Infiltrators marry tribal girls and buy tribal land in their names and build their houses.
Women also exercise the rights given to them by contesting elections from reserved seats. At some places this work is done by non-tribals. Due to lack of awareness among tribals, such incidents are continuously increasing. In view of this, some intellectuals of the tribal society are also continuously running awareness campaigns.
Its positive impact is now visible in the district. In many places, people have started protesting against this type of land occupation. Two days ago, under the leadership of Mukesh Soren, the members associated with the organization created awareness among the people by playing drums in other villages including Sakrigali, Chhoti Bhagiamari, Santali Tola, Muslim Tola, Bind Tola, Mahaldar Tola.
In this sequence, many people talked about not selling their land to non-tribals. Baisi has filed an application at Taljhari police station requesting to stop such activities. Now the villagers are preparing to meet the Deputy Commissioner.
Capture of thousands of acres of tribal land
Tribal land is being encroached on a large scale in the entire district. Muslims have established a complete settlement on tribal land in Motijharna. Recently, news regarding this was published in Dainik Jagran, after which there was no activity there for a few days, but now housing is being constructed there again.
Concrete construction is being done at many places on the land of Pahadia community in Jilabia valley near the district headquarters. In July this year, there was an incident of firing between two parties over the land of a tribal in Kalyanchak of Rajmahal police station area.
Actually, tribal land is not formally registered. Its buying and selling is done through donation papers. In such a situation, even the district administration is not able to get its accurate data, which causes problems in legal action.
Many times, when administrative officials came to take action on information regarding wrongful purchase and sale of tribal land, the original Rayats came forward. After this the action had to be stopped. In Taljhari block, it is also coming to light that some people are taking tribal land on lease and selling it.
By luring the tribals, non-tribals buy their land. Even after marrying tribal girls, their land is being taken over. Due to this the existence of tribals is in danger. If someone marries a tribal girl then he should be deprived of the facilities available in the name of tribal, only then the existence of tribals will be saved. -Mukesh Soren, Abhen Akhara Jagwar Baisi
