State Bureau, Lucknow. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has given instructions to celebrate Republic Day with full enthusiasm.
He has asked to organize Republic Day at Amrit Sarovar sites and hoist the tricolor flag by a freedom fighter, a family member of someone martyred after independence, a local Padma awardee or a senior citizen of the local gram panchayat.
There will be active participation of public representatives, Panchayat members, self-help groups and school children in the program. There will be many activities on the lakes to make the festival attractive.
A “Heritage Walk” will be taken out to explain the importance of the lakes. There will be painting, essay and poetry competitions for students on the theme of water conservation and environment. Selfie points have also been made on the lakes.
