Jagran correspondent, Baghpat. A truck driver from Meerut died of a heart attack in a private hospital in Niwada. When the victim's relative accused the staff of negligence in treatment, he was beaten up in the district hospital. There was an uproar regarding this. The police pacified them.
32 year old Gulab Mohammad, resident of village Ukhalina Alamgirpur, Meerut, used to drive a truck. According to his brother Ikramuddin, Gulab Mohammad had left for village Kharkhoda of Sonipat in a truck on Wednesday evening. His health suddenly deteriorated late at night.
In the night itself, relatives brought him from Kundli in Sonipat and admitted him to the Indian Hospital in village Niwada. On Thursday morning, Gulab Mohammad suddenly became unconscious and was immediately taken to the district hospital. Doctors declared him dead.
When he was accused of negligence in treatment, some people from the operator's side of the Indian Hospital beat him up. There was a crowd from both sides. As the commotion increased, the staff of the district hospital called the police.
The police somehow pacified the matter. Kotwali in-charge Brijesh Kumar says that the victim's relatives refused to take police action. They took away the body of Gulab Mohammad without post-mortem. At the same time, CMO Dr. Tirath Lal says that the matter is not in his cognizance. Nor has anyone complained.
Fainted as soon as I sat on the bed
The victim's relative told that Gulab Mohammad had sent the location of Indian Hospital on his brother's mobile at around 8.15 in the morning. Standing outside the hospital and chatting comfortably. When he reached inside the hospital and sat on the bed, he suddenly became unconscious. He has five daughters. The incident has created chaos in the family.
At the same time, Talib, the director of Indian Hospital, says that there was no negligence in the treatment of Gulab Mohammad. They were his relatives only. The victim's relatives are satisfied with the treatment received in the hospital. It was also written to the police that they did not want any action in this matter.
