Truck driver robbed at knife point

Jagran correspondent, Potka. On the morning of January 1, at around 8:30 am, near Hata Chowk of Potka police station area, two criminals threatened the truck driver with a knife and looted Rs 4080 and fled towards Sundernagar on a bike. As soon as information about the incident was received, the local people informed the Potka police.

After the information, Potka police took immediate action and alerted Sundernagar police station in-charge Ajit Kumar Munda and the PCR deployed on the road. After this, Potka and Sundernagar police jointly cordoned off a raid near Tudi football ground, from where both the criminals were arrested.

Inspector Suresh Prasad told in the press conference organized in Potka police station premises regarding the matter that on January 1, the incident of robbery was carried out by showing a knife to the truck driver. After verification, a quick raid was conducted after giving information to the concerned police stations, which was successful.

The arrested criminals include Vicky Singh, a resident of Burmamines, against whom criminal records have been registered in several police stations in the past. The second accused is Asif Khan, resident of Golmuri.

The bike used in the incident was confiscated

Police recovered a brown colored purse from both of them, which contained the looted amount of Rs 4080. Along with this, the bike used in the incident has also been confiscated.

This raiding team included Potka police station in-charge Sunny Toppo, police sub-inspector Sunil Tuti, police sub-inspector Sundernagar Ajit Kumar Munda, assistant sub-inspector Babujan Baski along with PCR force personnel of Potka and Sundernagar police stations. The police is engaged in further legal action.
