Digital Desk, New Delhi. Yesterday, the US Supreme Court had canceled the Trump tariffs imposed on the world. Angered by this, Trump has now increased the global tariff from 10 percent to 15 percent on Saturday.
On the social media platform Truth, Trump wrote, "Based on the full detail and full review of the absurd, poorly written, and extremely anti-American decision on tariffs issued yesterday by the US Supreme Court after months of deliberation, please read this statement: I, as President of the United States, will immediately increase 10% worldwide tariffs on countries, many of which have been targeting the United States for decades without any change (until I came!) "Looting" will increase it to a fully approved and legally tested 15% level.
'New tariffs will be decided in the next few months'
He added, "Over the next few months, the Trump Administration will establish and release new, legally acceptable tariffs that will continue our very successful process of making America great again, greater than ever before!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter."
What did the Supreme Court say?
Earlier, giving a big blow to Trump, the Supreme Court on Friday canceled the huge tariffs imposed by his administration. The court said that the President has misused his authority by using emergency power for national crises.
The court said Trump invoked national emergency legislation to justify large trade tariffs, which the judges believed was beyond the president's power.
