RPF soldiers attacked in Jind, a constable kidnapped during patrolling
Jagran correspondent, Jind. Two RPF soldiers patrolling the Jind-Panipat railway line near village Sundarpur were beaten up by half a dozen people riding bikes. A soldier's uniform also got torn during the fight. The accused kidnapped a constable and took him with them. The police later rescued him.
In the complaint given to the police, RPF soldier Praveen told that on December 24, at around 8 pm, he along with constable Sandeep was patrolling the Jind-Panipat railway line to stop theft. While going from village Sundarpur towards village Pindara, they found six people on two bikes. When he tried to inquire about the suspicion, they started abusing him.
When he protested, the accused started beating him. Praveen said that his uniform got torn in this. During the fight, he fell into the trees and informed about this to dial 112 and RPF police station.
The accused constable forcibly took Sandeep with him. The police later released Sandeep from the village. Sadar police station's investigating officer Naresh said that on the complaint of constable Praveen, Manjeet, Amit, Navdeep and Sahil, residents of village Sunderpur, have been named and investigation has been started by registering a case against two others under various sections like assault, obstruction in government work and kidnapping.
