Jagran correspondent, Bageshwar. Police is taking strict action against drug smuggling. Two smugglers including a B.Tech youth from Dehradun have been arrested with 462 grams of illegal hashish. The police will present the accused in the court.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Manish Sharma told journalists that on the instructions of the SP, an intensive checking campaign is being conducted in the district. Kapkot police team was on vehicle checking near Phuldai. Vehicle number UK07-HE-3697 stopped. Searched them. In which 462 grams of illegal hashish was recovered. In this case, Ayush Singh Rawat, son of Harendra Singh Rawat, resident of Dehradun (Garhikant), who is a B.Tech pass, and Raj Dutt, son of Rajendra Singh, resident of village Dola, Kapkot, were arrested.
He said that the value of the recovered illegal hashish in the international market was estimated to be around Rs 1.5 lakh. Police have also seized the vehicle used in hashish smuggling. A case has been registered under NDPS Act in Kapkot against both the arrested accused. Police is taking necessary legal action. The accused will be presented in the court. He said that such actions will continue in the future to make the district drug free.
