The demand for drugs is very high in Delhi-NCR on New Year's Eve and the days before that. In view of this, many types of drugs were brought for supply in Delhi-NCR.
1.068 kg of charas, 98 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol, 174 grams of OG and a car used to transport the drugs have been seized from them. Marijuana grown near the ocean is known as OG. This type of hemp is grown near the coasts in Thailand, America and California and has a very high amount of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). Therefore, the demand for Thai hemp has been increasing rapidly in India for some time.
According to DCP Pankaj Kumar, the arrested accused have been identified as Ritanshu Gund and Rhythm Gund, residents of Hari Nagar. They were arrested on December 17 from Tihar Jail Road, Janakpuri, when they were trying to supply drugs in a car.
The Crime Branch team was actively working on information related to drug smugglers operating in different parts of Delhi. On December 17, information was received about the movement of drug smugglers supplying narcotics in a car on Tihar Jail Road, Janakpuri. Based on the information, the police team led by ACP Girish Kaushik and Inspector Sandeep Tushir signaled the smugglers to stop on Jail Road in Janakpuri. The driver tried to flee at high speed; However, the alert team chased the vehicle and arrested both the accused.
Ritanshu Gund is a graduate. He used to help his father in his heavy vehicle spare parts business. A case is already registered against him in Hari Nagar police station. He started the drug smuggling business to earn easy money. Rhythm Gund is a graduate and currently a second year student in a college in Sohna, Haryana. He was also involved in an old case in Hari Nagar. He also got involved in drug smuggling with his brother to earn quick money.
