UP Census 2027: Schedule Of First Phase Census Released, Will Answer These 33 Questions

Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. The district administration has become active regarding the preparations for Census 2027. This time the census will be conducted completely through digital medium, in which for the first time citizens are also being given the facility of self-counting. The census will be conducted in two phases, in which the first phase will run from May 22 to June 20. This time in the census, information will be sought from each family at 33 points.

A meeting of the District Level Census Coordination Committee was organized under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh in the Sarsaiya Ghat New Auditorium. The District Magistrate said that the census will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will run from May 22 to June 20, in which buildings will be counted. The second phase will start in February 2027, in which population related data will be collected. A total of 13,089 personnel have been deployed for this campaign in the district.

He told that this will be the 16th census of the country and the eighth after independence. This will be the most authentic source of social, economic and demographic data at village, town and ward level. Through this, information will be sought on subjects like housing conditions, basic facilities, education, literacy, economic activities, religion, language. This time the census will be completely digital.

15 days before the start of the census, citizens will be able to fill the form by answering the questions online themselves through the Census Self Enumeration Portal and mobile app. During the census, it is mandatory to provide information on 33 points related to the building, number of rooms, ownership, drinking water, electricity, toilet, cooking fuel and movable and immovable properties.

The District Magistrate said that the training of master trainers will be completed by 28 February, the training of field trainers by 31 March and the training of supervisors by 15 May. Assistant Director Census Dinesh Yadav, CDO Deeksha Jain, ADM Finance and Revenue Vivek Chaturvedi, Additional Municipal Commissioner Avesh Khan, DPRO Manoj Kumar, BSA Surjit Singh, DIO Shantanu Srivastava, District Economics and Statistics Officer Isha Sharma were present in the meeting.
