State Bureau, Jagran, Lucknow. After the death due to contaminated water in Indore, the state government has also given instructions to conduct regular testing of sewer and water pipelines to provide clean drinking water in the urban areas of the state.
In this regard, in the government order issued by Principal Secretary Urban Development P Guruprasad to the Directors of Urban Bodies, Municipal Commissioners and Managing Director of Jal Nigam, it has been clearly stated that damages or leakages in sewer and drinking water pipelines should be repaired immediately. He has also instructed the city residents to regularly clean the water supply tanks.
After the deaths due to drinking contaminated water in Indore, the state government has issued detailed guidelines to provide clean drinking water to the city residents. It has been said that tube wells, hand pumps, pipelines, water tanks and other equipment should be operated in such a way that water can be supplied without interruption.
Special instructions have been given to collect water samples at the tap usage point of consumers and get them tested. Instructions have also been given to conduct OT (Orthotolidine) test, virus (virological), bacteria (bacteriological) test and chemical analysis to test chlorine in water samples.

The Principal Secretary has directed that the old water pipelines should be replaced on priority and details of the work done regarding the supply of clean drinking water should also be made available to the government within a week.
To ensure that there is no laxity in this matter, the Principal Secretary has also warned that any kind of laxity and carelessness will be taken seriously and strict action will be taken.
