Uproar over missing youth who went to Chennai in search of work
Jagran correspondent, Potka. 38 year old Ram Das, resident of Haldipokhar Bhelaidih of Kowali police station area, is missing for the last four days. Ram Das had gone to Chennai for employment in a chassis vehicle with his five friends Paresh, Hello, Israfil, Pintu and Lallan from Haldipokhar West on February 7, but since then there has been no trace of him.
Missing Ram's mother Parvati Das and sister Rupa Das are in bad condition and crying. The mother is becoming unconscious while repeatedly saying “Give back my son Ram”. According to the family, when Ram's father called four days ago to inquire about his well being, he said that his mobile was switched off.
Told about Ram's disappearance
Next day when I called, a young man named Paresh picked up the phone and informed about Ram's disappearance. Sometimes he kept making various excuses, saying different things like being mentally deranged and sometimes being lost somewhere.
Family members told that Ram's mobile is still with Paresh. The family members have expressed suspicion against the five youths and demanded strict action. On receiving information about the incident, Panchayat head Devi Kumari Bhumij and Zilla Parishad member Suraj Mandal came to console the family.
He said that when these five youths had taken Ram Das to Chennai for employment, they would have to tell where Ram Das was. He has demanded the police administration to seriously investigate the entire matter and take action against the culprits. At present the family is holding out hope for the safe return of Ram Das.
