Jagran correspondent Kotdwar (Pauri). Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Nayar Valley Festival organized on Thursday in Bilkhet of Pauri Garhwal district. He said that this event will give new identity to the immense potential of tourism, culture and adventure activities of Nayar Valley and will increase self-employment opportunities for the local youth.
The Chief Minister announced development works of various religious and tourist places including setting up of paragliding training centers in the area.
He inspected the departmental stalls to know the progress of the schemes and distributed Mahalakshmi kits, disabled equipment to the beneficiaries and interacted with women groups and local citizens.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off and inaugurated adventure activities like Paragliding, Paramotoring, Hot Air Balloon, Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Angling, Zipline, Burma Bridge, River Bungee.
He said that such events will strengthen the regional economy and the youth will get employment at the local level.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is working on strengthening roads, electricity, drinking water, education, health and communication facilities in the spirit of Antyodaya.
He also mentioned various ongoing projects in the district like construction of NIT in Srinagar, sewerage plant for Khoh river, waste processing plant in Kotdwar, bridge construction and tourism related schemes.
The Chief Minister said that under the “Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar” campaign, the administration teams are solving the problems of the people by reaching the Nyaya Panchayat level and the benefits of the schemes are being delivered directly to every home.
In the program, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that Nayar Valley Festival is an important initiative towards making Uttarakhand an adventure tourism destination at the national and international level, which will boost employment and economic activities at the local level.
Welcoming the Chief Minister, MLA Rajkumar Pori said that this festival will give a new identity to Pauri on the tourism map. Various public representatives, administrative officials and a large number of local people were present in the program.
