Ankur Aggarwal, Jagran Dehradun: The land located in Haripur Vyas of Kalsi Tehsil area of Doon on which the person from Pakistan/PoK had staked his claim, has now been transferred to the name of the government.

Deputy District Magistrate Kalsi Premlal has struck off the names of eight persons registered on the land and with this 0.7688 hectare land has been vested in the government. District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that the administration's investigation has found the claim of the Pakistani citizen to be fake.

The dispute over this land started in the year 2022, when Ghulam Haider, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, bought land in Haripur Kalsi. Ghulam Haider was posted in Jammu Police and was also suspended on charges of helping terrorists.

Regarding how Haider purchased land in the tribal area of Kalsi, the allegation was that he purchased the land through fake documents. The allegation was that he made this purchase with the help of his relative living in Haripur area. He registered his name in the family register and also made a permanent residence certificate.

The dispute over the land arose when a man identifying himself as Abdullah in a video released from Pakistan/PoK claimed that the land belonged to his grandfather Mota Ali. According to him, his grandfather had donated this land to the Imambara Mosque.

In another video, the same person was seen standing with a Maulvi and reiterating his claim on the land. During this time it also came to light that Ghulam Haider had fraudulently sold the land to eight persons and now all the parties are coming forward who want to take possession of the land.

Land purchased against tribal rules

The administration has shown activeness on the claims being made by Pakistani citizens and others on the ground and has rejected all the claims.

The names of Rajab Ali, Mohammad Shafi, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Shaukat Ali, Tewar Ali, Asghar Ali, Safdar Ali and Wilkis Bano have been removed from the land and the name of the state government has been mentioned in the revenue records.

The District Magistrate said that there is a provision to vest the land bought and sold against the rules in the tribal areas in the State Government.
