Jagran Correspondent, Dehradun: Uttarakhand Ka Mausam: Life is being affected due to dense fog and cold day conditions in most of the plain areas of the state including Dehradun. There was dense fog in Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar and Dehradun districts since morning, which further increased the effect of cold.
Severe cold is being felt in the morning and evening, while there was partial relief due to sunshine for some time during the day. On the contrary, the weather in the hilly areas remained relatively clear and due to bright sunshine the temperature was recorded higher than normal.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain dry in the state for the next three days, but moderate to dense fog in the plains can increase problems. In view of this, yellow alert has been issued regarding winter day.
Meteorologists say that due to low visibility, traffic and air services may be affected. The biggest impact of fog is seen on air services. Due to low visibility, IndiGo's second flight from Delhi to Pantnagar was canceled on Friday.
This flight was scheduled to take off from Delhi at 1:05 pm and reach Pantnagar at 2 pm, but it had to be canceled due to very low visibility at the airport. Due to this the passengers had to face a lot of inconvenience.
Road accident occurred due to dense fog
Road traffic has also been affected by fog. A major road accident occurred due to dense fog in Bajpur area of Udham Singh Nagar. On Friday morning, during the checking of mining vehicles by the royalty team, the vehicle coming from behind collided with a parked truck due to sudden braking.
In this accident, 21 year old driver Shoaib, son of Bareilly resident Mohd. Shah was seriously injured, while conductor Musharraf suffered minor injuries. After the accident, there was a long jam on the road, which the police and administration had to struggle a lot to clear.
