Uttarakhand Will Soon Get Two New IAS Officers, Seven Names Discussed In Delhi For Promotion

State Bureau, Dehradun. Two posts of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre lying vacant under promotion quota in Uttarakhand will soon be filled.

A meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee was held in the Union Public Service Commission for two vacant posts for the year 2022 in New Delhi. Seven names were discussed in this. Now soon the Commission will put its seal on two of these names.

At present, two posts of IAS for the year 2022, two posts for the year 2023 and four posts for the year 2024 are vacant in Uttarakhand. The state government had requested the Center to conduct DPC on all these posts.

For this, the Personnel Department had sent the details of the vacancies of the three years and the PCS officers who fulfilled the eligibility in relation to them, to UPSC. However, UPSC currently discussed in the meeting for two vacancies for the year 2022. Seven names were discussed in the meeting.

These include Bhagwat Kishore, Bansilal Rana, Narendra Singh Kuriyal, Harak Singh Rawat, Bhagwan Singh Chalal, Chandra Singh Dharamshaktu and Jeevan Singh Nagniyal. Bhagwat Kishore and Harak Singh Rawat included in this list have passed away.

Since both the officers were in service during the vacancy period of the year 2022, their names were also sent as per the rules. Now the Commission has to decide whether he should be given posthumous cadre benefits or not.

If the names of these two are not included then Bansilal Rana and Narendra Singh Kuriyal are ahead in seniority. In such a situation, their chances of becoming IAS are high. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu and Secretary Personnel Shailesh Bagauli attended the meeting from Uttarakhand's side.
