JP Pandey, Jagran Varanasi. In view of the ever increasing number of tourists in Kashi and for their convenience, facade lights will be installed on major temples and ghats of the city. The government has approved the proposal sent by the Tourism Department and approved Rs 10 crore.
Also, it has been asked to include more major places so that tourists can get maximum facilities. The government has asked the tourism department to select an agency and prepare a detailed project report so that the work can be started as soon as possible.
Facade lights should be installed in such a way that when you reach the temple and Ganga ghat site, it looks different and is also recognizable. For the convenience of tourists, beautification worth several crores of rupees has been done near major temples and Ganga ghats.
Tourists are also getting its benefits. Tourists are not able to benefit from the development work done on many temples and Ganga ghats at night. Due to darkness there, tourists face problems or tourists hesitate to go.
Some tourists had also complained about this to the tourism department. Apart from this, the Tourism Department had also conducted a survey from a private agency. Keeping in view the convenience of tourists, the Tourism Department had prepared and sent a proposal in the Tourism Development Plan for the financial year 2025-26.

In the tourist destination Kashi, tourists visit the Ganga ghats day and night. All temples remain open till 12 midnight and open early in the morning. For the convenience of tourists, various schemes and streets have been laid by the Municipal Corporation.
Street lights have become old and worn out. Having street lights of different models does not look good. Under the scheme, lights of one design will be installed. Due to darkness, snatching, molestation or any accident may happen to the tourists. Facade lights will be installed here.
