Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University is all set to hold its 105th convocation on Friday, December 12, 2025. A total of 13,650 degrees will be awarded at this year's convocation. The main function will be held at Swatantrata Bhawan from 11.00 am. Addressing the press conference of the convocation ceremony held at the Central Office on Wednesday, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi said that during the main function, 2 Chancellor Medals, 2 Late Maharaja Vibhuti Narayan Singh Gold Medals and 29 BHU Medals will be awarded to 29 meritorious students from the stage.

Varanasi: On Tuesday morning, 30-year-old Rahul Mishra committed suicide by hanging himself in a room of his tin shed in Bankat village of the police station area. Before committing suicide, he had blamed his wife Sandhya Singh, mother-in-law Madhavi Singh, and wife's lover Shubham Singh Danger for the incident. In this case, on the complaint of Rahul's mother Rani Devi, the police had registered a case against three people in the police station under Section 108 of BSA.
